Jamshedpur: In response to the brutal murder and rape of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata, doctors at MGM Hospital have initiated an indefinite strike. The protest, involving all doctors’ organizations in Jamshedpur, reflects nationwide anger over the incident.
The doctors are demanding enhanced security and justice for the victim’s family. Currently, OPD services are suspended, and while emergency services continue, the doctors have warned that they may halt these as well if their demands are not met.
The Kolkata High Court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the case, further fueling the doctors’ unrest.
