Jamshedpur: Srinath University in association with Srinath College of Education organised a cultural programme to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of ‘Bard’ Rabindranath Tagore. The entire faculty and students assembled at the University auditorium to salute the Nobel Laureate for his immortal creations that have embellished not only Bengali but international literature for posterity.

Dr. Govind Mahato, Vice Chancellor of Srinath University offered floral tributes to Rabindranath Tagore and in his address observed, “Revered across the world for his remarkable contribution to  the world of literature, music and art, Rabindranath Tagore was a legendary figure and a cultural icon. The greatest tribute to icons while observing their birth anniversaries is to imbibe their philosophies and purposeful pursuits and make them a part of our ways of life. We look upon the Nobel Prize recipient as a definer of all that is beautiful and a motivator of noble thoughts and ideas and these will continue to inspire generations through time. Rabindranath’s writings show his command over the language. The more we read his writings, understand his music and dance creations, the more we will understand the crux of life and living.” Anju Mahato of B Ed Department presented a dance on Rabindranath’s song composition and Kusum also of the same department spoke on the thematic values of Tagore’s literary creations. The program was jointly anchored by Devbrat and Shravani, both of the B Ed Department.
