Jamshedpur, June 11: The School of Commerce and Management at Srinath University concluded a two-day workshop on ‘Financial Education of Young Citizens’ in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). The workshop aimed to impart essential financial knowledge and skills to students, preparing them for a prosperous future.
Led by distinguished speaker Prof. (Dr.) Raman Ballabh, an academician and management professional with over 29 years of experience, the workshop delved into various aspects of investing in securities markets. Prof. Ballabh conducted intensive sessions focusing on the prerequisites, precautions, and risks associated with securities market investments, while also highlighting employment opportunities in the financial service industry.
The workshop served as an inspiration for students, offering insights into career paths within the financial services sector, including FINTECH, broking, regulatory bodies such as SEBI, stock exchanges like BSE and NSE, depositories like CDSL and NSDL, mutual funds, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), banking, and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). Additionally, it equipped students with the necessary skills to confidently navigate interviews in these sectors, while also providing strategies for managing personal finances and exploring self-employment opportunities through investments.
The conclusion of the two-day session left students empowered with valuable insights and practical knowledge about securities markets, fostering their capacity to evaluate investment opportunities effectively.
