Jamshedpur, June 12: Adarsh Seva Sansthan’s five day environment protection programme that commenced on June 5 under the children’s wing, Youth Club, concluded with the presentation of a Nukkad Natak themed on the ill effects of child marriage. Prize distribution in various categories followed. The chief guests on the occasion comprised Burmamines PS OC Alok Dubey, SI Santosh Dubey, Mukesh Kumar and Lakhi Das of Adarsh Seva Sansthan and Vikas Srivastava. The programme was organized at the Community Centre in Das Basti at Burmamines.
During the five-day campaign, the children created awareness on environmental care, child labor, and child marriage through street plays and conducted signature campaigns. The children living in Burmamines Das Basti and those associated with the organization also took part in slogan and article writing and poster-painting competitions.
Chief guest Alok Dubey said that all the children who presented the Nukkad Natak and those present in the program would be saved from the clutches of the social evil of child marriage and would go out and create awareness against this ill. He was also impressed by the the slogans and poster paintings by the children. The guests honoured the winners of various competitions by giving away prizes. The program was anchored by Rajesh Kumar. Alpana Das, Pooja Pramanik, Rinku Pal, Reena Dutta also graced the occasion.
The prize winners in various categories included Megha (first), Saraswati (second), Sangeeta and Som (third0, Ganga and Anjali (consolation prizes) for painting; Tanya (first), Rinki Pal (second), Ladli (third), Saraswati (consolation) for slogan writing; Seema Gope (first), Rinki Pal (second), Kareena Karmakar (third) for article writing.
Earlier, the children conducted a signature campaign during the five-day environmental program. Many people signed at various places and took a pledge for wind conservation. The children took a pledge that all those who signed would plant a sapling in their name through seed ball method. For this, children prepared the seed balls themselves. They collected seeds of varied fruit trees and made seed balls. These seed balls would be planted at various locations during the monsoon.
