Srinath University signs MoU with IBM for industry-integrated Business Analytics programs

Jamshedpur, June 11: In a significant move to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, Srinath University, Jamshedpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM to introduce industry-integrated BBA and B.Com (Hons.) programs in Business Analytics.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Yahya Mazumder, Registrar of Srinath University, and Shefaly Dutta, Leader of Academic Partnership (East India & Extended Countries), IBM. The ceremony was attended by senior university officials including Dr. J. Rajesh, Dean Administration, and Dr. Mritunjay Mahato, Head of Commerce and Management.

Industry expert Rajeev Kabra, Director and CEO of Cognitel and former senior executive at IBM and Wipro, also graced the occasion. He highlighted the importance of industry-oriented education in preparing students for evolving corporate demands.

The collaboration will offer students a future-ready curriculum in Business Analytics, combining academic learning with practical exposure. Students will benefit from IBM-led expert sessions, hands-on training in advanced analytics tools, industrial visits, hackathons, and innovation challenges.

University officials said the program is among the first of its kind in Jamshedpur, aiming to bridge the gap between classroom education and industry requirements while improving employability in fields such as data analytics, business intelligence, and digital transformation. (w/gsd)
