Jamshedpur: Students from East Singhbhum district delivered an impressive performance at the 4th East Zone Pickleball Championship organized by the Jharkhand Pickleball Association at Khelgaon, Ranchi, bringing laurels to their institutions with multiple medal wins.
Srinath University emerged as one of the top performers in the competition. In the Beginner Men’s Singles category, Ravi Kumar secured a silver medal, while Muskan Kumari Yadav clinched another silver in the Beginner Women’s Singles event. The duo of Ravi Kumar and Mayank Adarsh also added to the tally by winning silver in the Beginner Men’s Doubles category.
In the Advanced Mixed Doubles segment, Ravi Kumar and Muskan Kumari Yadav showcased strong performance by reaching the semifinals. Representing Jamshedpur Women’s University, Purnima Pramanik and Sneha Kumari also performed well, winning a silver medal in the Beginner Women’s Doubles category.
From Srinath College of Education, Souman Ghose and Biju Mandal reached the quarterfinal stage in the Beginner Men’s Singles category, delivering a commendable performance.
Team coach and Assistant Professor Suryajeet Singh expressed pride in the students’ achievements, stating that their success had brought honour to the district and encouraged them to aim for national-level recognition through continued dedication and hard work.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. N. Singh congratulated the participants, describing them as valuable assets to the university. He emphasized that such achievements strengthened the institution’s reputation and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sports and nurturing talent across disciplines.
