Srinath College hosts talk show on ‘Classroom Management: Art or Science’

Jamshedpur, April 25: Srinath College of Education hosted an insightful talk show on the theme “Classroom Management: Art or Science” at its campus. The event aimed to explore the dual nature of classroom management and its significance in modern teaching.

Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik, Principal of Jamshedpur Workers College, and Dr. Kalyani Kabir, Principal of Rambha College of Education, Gitilata, were the keynote speakers. The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address delivered by Assistant Professor Moumita Mahato.

Dr. Mahalik emphasized that effective classroom management demands a teacher to play the role of a friend, guide, and philosopher. He stated that teachers are also managers who must efficiently handle classroom activities, even when resources are limited.

Dr. Kalyani Kabir highlighted the artistic dimension of managing a classroom. She noted that a teacher must engage both mind and heart and underscored the importance of recognizing individual student differences to create a more enjoyable and effective learning environment.

Principal of Srinath College of Education, Dr. Bhavya Bhusan, addressed aspiring educators, urging them to incorporate the insights shared during the session to enhance their future teaching practices. The program also featured an interactive Q&A session, during which students and faculty posed questions to the guest speakers.

Assistant Professor Leena Mahanta anchored the event, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Professor Madhuri Kumari. The talk show was well-received and provided valuable perspectives on the ongoing discourse surrounding classroom management.
