
Jamshedpur: City paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and Sreeleathers founder Suresh Chandra Dey on his 108th birth anniversary on Sunday, April 21 and vowed to walk on the path laid down by him. During a programme organised at Kamani Centre in Bistupur on Sunday, paid homage to Suresh Dey, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and freedom fighter Master Surya Sen. On the occasion Sreeleathers founder Suresh Chandra Dey’s elder son Shekhar Dey and other prominent people of the city were present. Addressing the gathering, Shekhar Dey informed that Sreeleathers was setup in the year 1952 and since then this institution is running on the path laid down by the founder.
“With its motto ‘World Class Right Price’, Sreeleathers has been serving the people and hopes to continue the same in years to come. Suresh Chandra Dey always focused on educating the girl child and thought of girls as power of a family and keeping this in mind Sreeleathers family has always been into social cause and is running ‘Encourage Girl Child’ programme along with women empowerment programme and rural education programme in villages”, added Shekhar Dey.
He thanked all the customers for making Sreeleathers where it stands today.
General Manager Tushar Sarkar informed that ‘Encourage Girl Child’ programme will continue from May 5 where sanitary pad vending machines will be installed in schools.
At the event other prominent people of the society paid homage to Suresh Chandra Dey.
