Jamshedpur, March 29 — The Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) organized a solemn prayer meeting on Saturday evening to mark the 79th death anniversary of its former president, the late Professor Abdul Bari. Union members gathered at the TWU premises at 6:00 PM to pay their respects to the iconic labor leader.
Remembering a Visionary Leader
During the ceremony, TWU General Secretary Satish Kumar Singh, Co-President Shailesh Kumar Singh, and Vice President Shahnawaz Alam addressed the gathering, highlighting Professor Bari’s life and legacy. Dr. M.S. Singh, Faculty-cum-Office Associate, provided a detailed biographical account of the former president’s contributions.
Speakers urged union members to draw inspiration from Professor Bari’s energetic and visionary leadership, encouraging them to apply his principles to their personal lives and union activities.
A Legacy Cut Short
Professor Abdul Bari served as the President of the Tata Workers’ Union for a decade, from 1937 to 1947. His leadership ended tragically on March 28, 1947, when unidentified assailants shot and killed him near the Fatuha railway station near Patna.
