Jamshedpur, Aug 4: If everything goes as planned the high efficacy Sputnik V vaccine will be available in the city. The Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum has placed orders for procuring the vaccine. They are expected to be available to the people around mid-August.
Senior officials of the Indian Red Cross Society said that they have made advance payment for procuring the vaccine doses. “ We have been trying to procure the vaccine, which is in huge demand. We have already made an advance payment for getting the vaccine. The vaccine will be given on a no-profit, no-loss mode. It will be a paid service. One dose of Sputnik V vaccine will cost around Rs 1,600, ” said the official of East Singhbhum unit of Indian Red Cross Society. He said the consignment of the vaccine is expected to arrive in the next one week from Mumbai. Tata Main Hospital management had also taken initiative in fetching the Russian-made vaccines. Talks were on for the Sputnik vaccines and the process of procurement of the vaccine.
