SPSB veterans beat Tata Steel by 22 runs in friendly match

Jamshedpur, March 16: A friendly cricket match was played between Steel Plants’ Sports Control Board (SPSB) and Tata Steel at the Keenan Stadium on Friday.

The players of age above 45 years participated in the match. SPSB Veterans defeated Tata Steel by 22 runs. Batting first team SPSB scored 106 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the 15 over match. Rajesh Patel was the top scorer with 29 runs and Raja Banerjee scored 16 runs.

From Tata Steel Kuldeep Singh two wickets while Mahesh Jha, Amay Kolkar, Ravi and Deepak took a wicket each.

Chasing 107 runs to win Tata Steel batsman managed just 84 runs loosing 9 wickets and hereby loosing the match by 22 runs. Deepak Kumar scored 20 runs while Amay Kolkar scored 14 runs. SPSB bowlers put up a brilliant display where Rajesh Patel and DD Paul took 3 wickets each.

Earlier, Ashish Kumar, Head Sports met with both the teams and gave them token gift to all the players of both teams. Bagicha Singh was present too.


It may be noted that Tata Steel in association with SPSB is conducting the All India Inter Steel Plants Cricket Championship (T 20) from 12th to 18th March` 2018 at the Keenan Stadium and Tata Motors Ground.
