Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Morning calm turned into chaos on the Sonari-Kadma Link Road on Saturday when a speeding car, reportedly driven by a police personnel, lost control and crashed into pedestrians and parked vehicles.
One woman sustained injuries, and several vehicles were damaged in the incident that occurred around 6 a.m.
According to eyewitnesses, residents were out for their routine morning walk and yoga session along the roadside when the car suddenly veered off course, mounted the footpath, and hit a group of people. “The car came out of nowhere and crashed into the pavement. One woman fell and got hurt badly,” said a local resident, who witnessed the incident.
Panic ensued as locals rushed to help the injured and surrounded the car.
The Kadma police reached the spot shortly after receiving information and took the injured woman to a nearby hospital.
She was administered first aid and later discharged.

Tension prevailed for some time as angry residents confronted the police, demanding strict action against the errant driver.
Kadma police station in-charge arrived at the spot and pacified the crowd, assuring appropriate legal measures.
Locals expressed concern over the increasing number of speeding vehicles on the Sonari-Kadma stretch, a popular morning route for walkers and fitness enthusiasts.
They urged the administration to install speed breakers and enforce stricter traffic regulations to prevent such mishaps.
Owners of the damaged vehicles lamented their losses, saying their cars were parked safely by the roadside.
Police have confirmed that a case will be registered against the driver and that measures will be taken to enhance road safety in the area.
