Man breaks inquiry counter glass at Tatanagar railway station, slits throat and escapes

Jamshedpur, Oct 25 :  A Chaos prevailed at  the Tatanagar railway station today when a mentally unstable man smashed the glass of the inquiry counter and slit his own throat with the broken shards.

Despite being injured and bleeding heavily, he managed to evade Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and fled the spot.

According to sources, RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP), along with Bagbera police, have launched a manhunt to trace the individual.

 

The incident occurred during a crowd-control operation at the station, where entry was restricted to ticketed passengers.

Witnesses said the man, stopped by a female RPF constable during routine checking, suddenly moved out of the queue and rushed to the inquiry counter.

Without warning, he smashed the glass with his head and then used a broken piece to slit his throat. Before security personnel could apprehend him, he fled from the spot.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the station to identify and locate the man involved.
