Jamshedpur, May 9: A special cover Stamp was issued in the name of Baijnath Soren who made special contribution in the development of Santhali language, on Tuesday by Department of Posts, East Singhbhum.
The program was organized in the premises of Jamshedpur Head Post Office in collaboration with Santhali Writers Association.
Jamshedpur, MP Bidyut Varan Mahato as the chief guest on the occasion, Zila Parishad President Bari Murmu as special guest, Senior Post Office Superintendent, Singhbhum Mandal Gudiya Kumari, Santhali Writers Association President Sharda Prasad Kisku among others.
On this occasion, the MP said that Baijnath Soren has an important contribution in the development of Santhali language. The special cover stamp issued today in the name of Baijnath Soren will continue to remind of his contribution towards Santhali language across the world.
Postal Superintendent Gudiya Kumari said that there is a provision in the postal department that for the incomparable contribution of a person in a particular language and field, his family members and his supporters can get a special cover and my stamp issued in his name from the postal department. For this a certain amount had to be deposited.
In this sequence, on Tuesday, on the request of MP and Santhali Writers Association, special cover and My Stamp were issued in the name of Baijnath Soren.
