Control room number to be functional, address water issues within 72 hours
Jamshedpur, May 9: A high level meeting on resolving drinking water related problems for Kolhan region was held on Tuesday.
The meeting chaired by secretary department of drinking water and sanitation, Manish Ranjan held at Auto Cluster Auditorium in Gamharia and attended by director Swachh Bharat Mission (rural) Neha Arora on getting rid of the water problem in all the districts of Kolhan division (Seraikela Kharsawan, East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum) in summer season. So that in view of the increasing heat, there is no problem of drinking water in any district of Kolhan region.

At the meeting various points regarding water conservation and construction of plastic-free village by collecting plastic at the village level were also discussed.
Manish Ranjan said that the crisis of drinking water becomes very deep in the summer season. In such a way, instructions were given to all the PHED officers of all divisions to set up a control room and prepare a dedicated team so that people can get enough water to overcome the crisis of drinking water.
There should be a control room number on which people can contact and inform about their problems. Along with this, he said that as soon as any problem related to drinking water supply arises, it should be resolved within 72 hours so that people can be relieved from drinking water crisis during the summer season.
While reviewing the various works being done in different districts point by point, he gave necessary and appropriate directions to the Executive Engineer of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in the districts and directed to complete all the ongoing works in a quality manner in time.
Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Manish Ranjan informed about the updated status of various schemes running in all the six districts under Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) in the divisional level meeting.
Along with directing all the concerned officers to get all the schemes done in a timely manner as well as in a quality manner, so that people can be benefited from the various public welfare schemes run by the state government.
Present in the meeting, Director Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Mrs. Neha Arora talked about motivating the ODF Plus beneficiaries to repair toilets themselves. Along with this, instructions were given to the district level, block level and panchayat level officials to ensure training for ODF Plus.
