Special camps twice a week to clear up land mutation cases in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a decisive move to expedite the resolution of pending land mutation cases, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal issued strict instructions during the monthly review meeting of the Revenue Department. The meeting, held at the Collectorate Auditorium, was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner  Bhagirath Prasad and was attended by SDM Ghatshila  Sunil Chandra, LRD Ghatshila and Dhalbhum, all Circle Officers (COs), the Sub-Registrar of Jamshedpur, CI, and Halka employees.

During the review, the Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized the urgent need to clear pending mutation applications within the stipulated time frame. Special attention was drawn to applications pending for over 90 days, with a directive for their immediate execution. The rejection rate of 37% of total mutation applications was also highlighted, and COs were instructed to provide clear reasons for rejections to ensure transparency and accountability.

To accelerate the processing of pending mutation cases, it was mandated that camps be organized two days a week in every area. This measure aims to facilitate speedy execution and reduce the backlog of applications. In urban areas, pending mutation cases of residential society flats will be processed based on the total area to streamline the process.

For succession mutations, the administration directed all zones to display clear information regarding the required documents at tehsil courts and zone offices. This step is intended to minimize repeated visits by applicants and enhance efficiency. The district’s achievement in online rent collection currently stands at 56%, but certain areas such as Dumariya, Bodam, Gudabanda, and Musabani recorded less than 40% collection. Zone employees were instructed to intensify efforts to increase revenue collection.

Additionally, the administration stressed the importance of regularly setting up courts for hearing revenue-related matters. Updates on land transfer requisitions were also reviewed, and COs of zones with pending cases were directed to take immediate action. Specific cases discussed included land transfers for projects such as the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya, an ACB divisional office, an urban community center, a 500-metric tonne godown, a retail outlet for the Jharkhand State Tribal Cooperative Vegetable Marketing Federation, an arena, and the FSTP scheme office under Jugsalai Nagar Parishad.

“ All COs were urged to take prompt and necessary action to ensure smooth land transfers and facilitate developmental projects in the district. The administration’s directives aim to bring efficiency and transparency to the land mutation and revenue collection process, benefitting residents and accelerating progress in the region,” said an official.
