Ranchi, Aug. 30 : The 4th Senior Jharkhand State Hockey Championship for Men and Women, organized by Tata Steel in association with the Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand and Hockey Jharkhand came to a grand conclusion on National Sports Day on August 29 at the Marang Gomke Astroturf Hockey Stadium at Morabadi in Ranchi.
The Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony Anil Kumar Singh, Director Sports, Government of Jharkhand handed over trophies to the winning teams.
The South Eastern Railway, Ranchi team emerged Winner in the Men�s category beating Ranchi District Team by 2-0 goals. The South Eastern Railway Ranchi Women�s team clinched the Winner trophy beating Ranchi District Women�s team by 5-1 goals.
Bhola Nath Singh, President, Hockey Jharkhand, Prabhat Kumar, District Sports Officer, Ranchi, Rajnish Kumar, CEO, Hockey Jharkhand, Olympian Manohar Topno, Narendra Singh Saini, Dronacharya Awardee, Ashish Kumar, Head Sports Tata Steel and Siddhartha Bortamuli, Head Corporate Communications (Jharkhand) Tata Steel were also present on the occasion along with officials from the state government, Hockey Jharkhand and Tata Steel.
The event concluded with lowering of the Hockey Jharkhand flag and recital of the national anthem by all present. Thirty-six teams (21 men & 15 women teams) coming from various districts of the state participated in the tournament which took place in an eliminator format from 27-29 August.
