Jamshedpur Crackdown: Gas Hoarders Shut Down

Jamshedpur: Amid rising complaints of cooking gas shortages and hoarding, the district administration took a tough stand on Thursday. Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, a team led by Dhalbhum SDO Arnav Mishra and ADM (Law and Order) Rahul Kumar Sinha conducted raids across several areas of the city.

Surprise Inspections Across Multiple Zones

The administrative team performed surprise inspections at gas agency offices and godowns in Mango, Dimna, Telco, and Sidhgora. Officials thoroughly scrutinized stock levels, booking records, and delivery status. During the investigation in the Sidhgora area, authorities caught a gas stove repair shop illegally refilling cylinders. Upon confirmation, the administration immediately sealed the establishment.

Safety and Compliance Checks

During the raids, officials also inspected cylinder storage conditions, safety standards, and licensing. They issued a stern warning to operators to strictly adhere to regulations and cautioned that any negligence would lead to severe consequences.

Campaign to Continue

The SDO stated clearly that the administration will not compromise on public safety. He warned that strict action awaits those creating artificial shortages or engaging in hoarding, emphasizing that such inspections will continue in the coming days.
