Jamshedpur, Sep 22: Under Sona-Sobran Dhoti-Sari scheme launched by Chief Minister Hemant Soren today from Dumka, a total of 436439 beneficiaries will be covered under the scheme in the district. Dhoti-lungi will be distributed in the ratio of 60-40.
On this occasion, district level program was organized at Ravindra Bhawan, Sakchi. MLA Ghatshila Ramdas Soren, MLA Jugsalai Mangal Kalindi, MLA Bahragora Sameer Mohanty, District Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Prasad, Special Divisional OfficerNaveen Kumar, ADM Law and Order Nandkishore Lal, District Supply Officer Rajiv Ranjan, Director DRDA Saurabh Sinha, SDM Ghatshila Satyaveer Rajak, District Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar, DPRO attended the programme.
On this occasion, dhoti-sari/lungi was distributed among 100 beneficiaries by the public representatives and office bearers present.
The scheme is designed to provide dhoti/lungi-sari to the beneficiaries covered by the National Food Security Scheme for only ten rupees. Under the scheme, a saree and a dhoti/lungi will be provided on the basis of each ration card to the beneficiaries covered by the National Food Security Scheme.
Under the scheme, distribution of clothes will be done among the beneficiaries under the system of public distribution system. For this, the beneficiaries covered by the National Food Security Scheme will need a ration card and a certificate. District Supply Officer Rajiv Ranjan informed that the number of ration card holders under NFSA in East Singhbhum district on 31.03.2021 is 436439 who will get the benefit of this scheme. Dhoti-lungi will be distributed in the ratio of 60-40. A total of 872878 clothes will be distributed in the district through public distribution system shop operators.
