Seraikela: Akash Kumbhakar, a student of Upgraded Plus Two High School, Kolabira, secured the second position in the district and third position in the Kolhan Division in the matriculation examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).
Akash scored an impressive 97.6 percent marks, contributing to his school’s outstanding 100 percent pass result. Out of 180 students who appeared for the examination, 139 secured First Division while 41 passed in Second Division.
Hailing from a humble background, Akash is the son of Subhash Kumbhakar, a daily wage laborer, and Saraswati Devi, a homemaker. Despite financial hardships, the family consistently supported education. Interestingly, Akash’s elder brother, Suraj Kumbhakar, had also secured the third position in the district in the 2020 matriculation results.
Akash credited his success to his parents and teachers and expressed his ambition to become a doctor and serve society. The school administration, district council member Shambhu Mandal and teachers from both his current and primary schools congratulated him for his achievement.
Principal Raghunandan Babu stated that teamwork and dedication of teachers played a key role in the school’s success. The school’s top 10 students included Amit Pal (95.6%), Raj Kishor Mahto (94.4%), Nishat Parveen (93.4%), and others, reflecting the institution’s strong academic performance.
