Jamshedpur, Feb 23: A 70 year old man, identified as Kalipad Hembram, was killed allegedly by his own son over a land dispute in Duaridih village under Patamada police station area late Tuesday evening.

The accused has been arrested, police said.

Sources said the incident took place when the accused, Bamapad Hembram, had a quarrel with his father over performing puja in their farm. The accused battered his father against the wall in anger and later throttled him, sources said.

After committing the crime, the accused took shelter at the residence of his relative in Gadigram. Police arrested him today and interrogated him in connection with the crime.

Cops sent the body of the deceased to MGM Hospital for postmortem examination.
