Chakradharpur, Nov 15: Phulan Devi Giri, elder brother of the slain Hindu leader Kamal Dev Giri, Tuesday appealed to the people of Chakradharpur to call off the bandh and open their shops and establishments as usual.
Phulan alleged that his brother was killed following a political conspiracy. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Railways Rao Sahab Patil Danve met the aggrieved kin of late Kamal Devi Giri at Dharmashala in Chakradharpur. Giri’s family demanded a CBI probe into the killing. Danve assured them that he would inform the Central government authorities about the murder and ensure a CBI inquiry in the case.
Addressing a press meet this evening, Phulan thanked one and all for extending support to his family after the killing of his younger brother. He said his brother was always concerned about the welfare of poor workers. He assured to take the pending works to conclusion.
“It is heartening to know that so many people loved my brother. I appeal to all protestors to have patience and help the administration arrest the culprits,” said Phulan.
BJP leaders said former Chief Minister and national vice president of the party Raghubar Das would reach late Giri’s house tomorrow.
Kamal Dev Giri was killed in a bombing near Bharat Bhawan Chowk in Chaibasa on Saturday last. Many Hindu outfits of West Singhbhm as well as the other two districts of Kolhan had protested the murder and demanded stringent action against the culprits.
