Jamshedpur: A delegation from the Singhbhum Janjati-Moolvasi Raiyat Kalyan Parishad (SJMRKP) met Ghatshila MLA Jairam Kumar Mahato at the Circuit House in Jamshedpur on Sunday and submitted a nine-point memorandum demanding justice for Tata displaced families. They also submitted a list of 58 affected land owners (Raiyat).
The delegation urged the MLA to raise issues related to land return, employment, compensation, and displacement certificates in the Jharkhand Assembly. They sought investigations into the original tenancy records from 1908 and 1932, and justice for those displaced due to projects like the Tata works, Dimna Dam, Sonari Airport, and 18 Mauzas.
Key demands included tripartite talks between Tata displaced persons, district administration, and Tata management; public disclosure of benefits provided to displaced families; return or compensation for land; priority in Tata recruitments; and the formation of a Displacement Commission.
The delegation included Prahlad Gope, Sunil Hembram, Naren Singh, Utpal Mahato, and others.
