Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has called upon the Jharkhand government to take immediate action on the proposal to establish a railway wheel and coach assembly factory in Chakulia. The Chamber has urged the government to appoint a coordinator at the administrative level to expedite the process.
SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka welcomed the investment proposal from Voltax Rail Private Limited, emphasizing its potential to boost employment, revenue and industrial growth in Kolhan and Jharkhand. He highlighted that in April 2023, a Chamber delegation had met Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav, advocating for a railway parts manufacturing unit in or around Jamshedpur. The recent proposal, he stated, is a result of those persistent efforts.
“If this project is implemented with the support of the Jharkhand government, it will significantly contribute to the development of the state, curb youth migration and enhance employment opportunities,” Moonka remarked.
Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia stressed the need for large-scale investments to provide new markets for MSMEs in Jamshedpur, which currently depend on a handful of major companies.
Vice President Puneet Kanwatia and Secretary Binod Sharma reaffirmed SCCI’s commitment to Jharkhand’s industrial growth, pledging continued efforts to accelerate development. Other Chamber officials, including Anil Modi, Rajiv Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal Goldy, Bharat Makani, Anshul Ringasia, Suresh Sharma Lipu and CA Anil Agarwal, also welcomed the proposal and urged the government to facilitate its swift execution
