Jamshedpur, Aug 31: Tagore Society is one such institution that is the confluence of art, education and culture. Many institutions are run concurrently by Tagore Society that has been the sunshine in the landscape of education that constitutes all round development of future citizens.

Tagore Academy is one such institution that organized its annual function at the Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium in Sakchi. True to its tradition, the students of this school performed the welcome song that set the tone for the proceedings to commence on a high note. In his address, Tagore Society�s General Secretary, Asish Chowdhury observed, �The fragrance of education in the realms of knowledge, art, culture and literary pursuits in our institution is spread through our passing out students who go forth into the world. They are our ambassadors and we are proud to note that they are acquitting themselves well in the various fields they have opted for.�

Tagore Academy Principal, Madhuchhanda Majumdar, while presenting the school�s annual report mentioned, �The school�s academic level is constantly on the rise the proof lies in the performances of the students at various levels. In the ICSE � 2019 exams out of 123 students 15 of them attained more than 90 percent marks. Similarly in the ISC � 2019 out of 109 students, Sayantan Das in the science stream received 97.75 percent marks brought laurels to the school and was ranked sixth in the city. In commerce section, Anirban Pal scored 91.25 percent , Ayush Kumar 93.75 percent in the arts stream and bagged the seventh position among his compatriots in the city.�

The Principal said that the students had performed extremely well in other competitive examinations and were also making appreciable headway in the field of sports. �This underlines our endeavor to generate the balanced development of mind and body. I express my gratitude to the support of all parents and look forward to their continued cooperation,� she said.

Chief Guest and Tagore Society President Dr HS Paul opined, �Whenever there is talk of development in any sphere, a strong foundation is always a prerequisite. Student phase is the phase of building a strong foundation. If we understand this aspect and identify ourselves with this factor, we shall never feel weak to challenges of life. Always remember the mantra of success which lies in simple living and high thinking. Make your life simple so that there is always space for aiming higher and attaining greater heights with every rung climbed. If we maintain parity with our work and behaviour so that we become examples of success.�

Dr Paul gave away awards to selected students who had put in exemplary efforts. The vote of thanks was offered by Tagore Society�s Vice President Dr Jahar Banerjee.
