Jamshedpur, July 10: In view of the upcoming Shravani Mela, South Eastern Railway has announced temporary stoppages for 22 trains at Mahadevshal Station to facilitate pilgrims and local passengers. These two-minute halts will remain in effect until August 9, 2025, with specific exceptions on certain dates for each train.

According to an official press release issued by South Eastern Railway, the initiative has been taken keeping in mind the heavy rush of devotees traveling during the holy month of Shravan, especially to areas near the Mahadevshal temple. “These additional halts are aimed at improving passenger convenience during the Shravani Mela,” stated a railway spokesperson.

The trains that will temporarily stop at Mahadevshal include popular services such as the Badampahar-Rourkela Express (18051/18052), Tatanagar-Rourkela MEMU (68043/68044), Danapur-Durg Express (13287/13288) and the Ispat Express running between Howrah and Titlagarh (12871/12872), among others. Some of these services, however, will skip the Mahadevshal halt on selected dates ranging from July 14 to August 9.

Other important trains like the Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, Howrah-Jagdalpur Express, Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express and Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express have also been included in this temporary arrangement.

With thousands of devotees expected to participate in Shravani Mela festivities, this move is seen as a step toward easing travel difficulties in the region. Railway authorities have urged passengers to check the revised schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly.
