Jamshedpur: A short film made by the Mass Communication students of Karim City College titled �Hadiya� won the Special Jury Award in the national short film festival during Samvad organized by Tata Steel.
The award was given to the young directors jointly by the Nobel winner for peace and renowned social worker of Bangladesh (2006), Mohammad Yunus, and Tata Steel MD TV Narendran at a function organized at Tribal Culture Centre, Sonari.
More than 70 entries were made at the short film festival. The judges praised Hadiya and decided to give the Special Jury Award to its directors. Vikas and Prakash, both Karim City students, directed the film.
The two were recently awarded for their film �Cake� in a short film festival organized in Devgarh, Odisha, this year. The film was edited by Kunal Dey whose film Chocolate has won many awards.
Karim City teachers including the head of the department of Mass Communication department Dr Neha Tiwary has congratulated the directors of the film. She said the directors had done a wonderful job.
