Shobha Yatra marks day 1 of Srimad Bhagwat Katha

Jamshedpur, Aug. 12: A weeklong Srimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagna began at Satyanarayan Marwari temple on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Saturday.

The seven-day religious programme will continue till Friday. Mathura resident Himanshu Maharaj gave discourse on day 1 of the religious programme. Discourses will be given by spiritual guru Himanshujee every afternoon.

On the first day of the bhagwat katha, Himanshu Maharaj held discourse on epilogue of bhagwat informing the devotees about how one should lead a peaceful life. For the human development, bhagwat orders how one should move from Darkness of ignorance to Wisdom-light. While performing rituals, a person should leave one his bad habits. He further said that one who hurts his parents and doesn’t give them respect are unable to find god. Earlier, after the performing of the rituals kalash was installed and Shobha yatra was taken out with pomp from Satyanarayan Marwari Mandir which traversed through Bistupur main road before culminating at mandir premises.

During the Shobha yatra devotees worshipped bhagwat at various places. Devotees in large numbers participated.

Omprakash Nagelia, Lalit Kumar Agiwal and Kamal Agarwal organised Prasad distribution on day 1 of the religious event. Hosts for the day were Ramavtar Agiwal, Shivkumar, Ramesh Kumar Agiwal, Omprakash Moonka.

Present on the occasion were temple committee secretary Suresh Agiwal, Kunjbihari Nagelia, Ashok Naredi, Ashok Sanghi, Murari Lal Nagelia, Satyanarayan Naredi, Manoj Agiwal, Arun Gupta, Kamal Agiwal, Mukesh Agiwal and devotees in large numbers.
