Shakespeare Bonanza: Arya Anandita of Loyola wins declamation contest

Jamshedpur, August 20: On its second day, the Inter School Shakespeare Bonanza organised by Association of British Scholars (Jamshedpur Chapter) saw several events being organised at Centre for Excellence on Saturday.

The declamation contest in period costume saw Arya Anandita of Loyola crowned the winner, Ankita Shah of MNPS was second while Shweta Jha of KPS, Burmamines was the second runner-up.

Altogether 21 students participated in this event. The judges for the event included Professor Rajiv Dayal of Kolhan University and Professor Broca of XLRI.

The Critical Appreciation was another creative session conducted by Rajesh Touchriver where eventually students were put into groups and asked to enact their own version of Shakespeare.

In the Mask Making conducted by Sharmistha Sarkar, British Council Kolkata, Students were encouraged to make masks on characters inspired by Shakespeare.

Overall the program was much appreciated by all members including Association of British Scholars (Jamshedpur Chapter) President Dr. Anita Gupta, Sumitesh Das, Captain Harneet, Sharat Chandran, AshuTiwary, P. Banati and others were present on the occasion.
