Severe heatwave grips Jharkhand, advisory issued

Jamshedpur: Once again, the scorching heat has descended upon the state, making it challenging for residents to venture outdoors during the day. In response to the soaring temperatures, the Meteorological Department has issued advisories urging caution in many areas of the state. Concerned about the well-being of children, the School Education Department has instructed schools to adjust their timings to shield students from the sun’s harsh rays.

In adherence to these directives, numerous government and private schools have modified their schedules and notified students and parents accordingly. Observing the instructions issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy, schools across the state are taking proactive measures to safeguard children from the adverse effects of the weather.

Tragically, one fatality has been reported in Hazaribagh due to the heatwave, prompting residents in surrounding areas to take precautionary measures. However, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon as the Meteorological Department predicts a possible change in weather, including the likelihood of rain in certain parts of the state, particularly in the capital, Ranchi, on Monday and Tuesday.

Despite this temporary respite, the Meteorological Department has cautioned that severe weather conditions may persist, with the possibility of heatwaves affecting many areas. It is imperative for individuals to exercise caution and avoid prolonged exposure to such extreme weather conditions. Additionally, the government plays a vital role in raising awareness among the general populace about the risks associated with heatwaves and the importance of adopting preventive measures to mitigate their impact.
