DC Inspects Ghatshila Sub-Treasury, Mandates Financial Discipline

Jamshedpur: To strengthen the district’s financial management, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shri Karn Satyarthi inspected the Sub-Treasury in Ghatshila. During the visit, he reviewed various operational processes and emphasized the need for transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to fiscal rules.

The DC described the treasury as the central mechanism for the administration’s financial activities. He directed the Treasury Officer to carefully scrutinize every bill submitted by Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to eliminate errors or irregularities. He specifically ordered heightened vigilance regarding salary and honorarium payments. “Verify the service records and active employment status of personnel before authorizing any funds,” the DC instructed, adding that officials must cross-check bank details to prevent payment failures.

During the inspection, Shri Satyarthi reviewed staff attendance, book transfers, and the status of unused allocations. He ordered officials to coordinate with departments to return unspent funds promptly if a project cannot utilize them. Furthermore, he mandated the regular settlement of pending AC/DC bills and a weekly review of PL accounts.

Ghatshila SDM Shri Sunil Chandra, the Jamshedpur Treasury Officer, and the Ghatshila Sub-Treasury Officer attended the inspection to ensure the immediate implementation of these directives.
