Several trains cancelled due to traffic-cum-power block

Jamshedpur, Feb. 7: Following traffic-cum-power block carried out at Tatanagar railway station, train services remained affected in Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway ( SER). The block was carried for the dismantling work of the old overbridge.

The traffic-cum-power block, which led to the disruption, started at 8.30 am and continued till 3 pm resulting in cancellation of three passenger trains and short-termination of four trains.

The Chakradharpur-Tatanagar- Special Passenger train was cancelled today alongwith two other trains- Chakulia-Tatanagar Passenger and Barkakana-Tatanagar Passenger. The Bilaspur-Tatanagar Passenger train was also short- terminated at Gamharia. Therefore, the services of the train between Tatanagar and Gamharia remained suspended today.

The Dhanbad-Tatanagar Subarnarekha Express was short-terminated at Kandra . Therefore the services of the train remained cancelled between Kandra and Tatanagar.

The Hatia-TatanagarPassenger was short-terminated at Gamharia. The services of the train between Tatanagar and Gamharia remained cancelled. The Barbil-TatanagarPassenger was short- terminated at Chaibasa. The train did not ply between Chaibasa and Tatanagar.

The Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Express left Tatanagar railway station on a rescheduled time. The train was scheduled to leave at 2.50 pm whereas it left at 3.50 pm today. The Tatanagar-Rourkela-Alappuzha Link Express was also rescheduled. The train left Tatanagar at 4.15 pm instead of 3.30 pm.
This was the second time this week the train services were disrupted for the overbridge dismantling work. Earlier, on Sunday a similar railway block was undertaken for the dismantling work. Tatanagar railway station witnesses a daily traffic of over 90- mail, express and passenger trains which either originate from Tatanagar of go via that station. The daily passenger footfall is close to 50,000.
