Jamshedpur: A meeting of Youth Janata Dal (United) was held at Rajasthan Bhavan, Gamharia, on Monday.
It was presided over by district president of the organization Dinesh Gorai. Several members of Bharatiya Janata Party joined JD (U) on the occasion.
Addressing the meeting, district youth JD (U) president Pawan Pandey said that the party would be gheraoing the Jharkhand Assembly on 23rd November to protest proposed amendments in the CNT Act and the SPT Act.
He appealed to party activists to attend the protest programme in large numbers. He further said that the party was going to launch an intensive membership campaign across the state.
Giving instructions to party members to follow strict discipline, Pandey said there was no place for alcoholism in the party.
He said anyone found drunk or engaged in a drunken brawl will be immediately ousted from the party.
The new entrants to the party from the BJP included Babu Jha, Kartik Kumar, Mahadev Pradhan, Tapas Pradhan, Mukesh Mahato, Raj Kumar Gorai, Abhimanyu Singh, Sushant Dutta and Mukesh Pandey.
