Seraikela youth arrested with 25 brown sugar packets

Seraikela, March 9: Seraikela-Kharsawan police continued crackdown on narcotic drugs suppliers in the district by arresting a youth with 25 packets of brown sugar.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Anand Prakash, said the accused, identified as Sufi Nazam, 25, a resident of Tajnagar, Kapali, in Chandil, was caught selling brown sugar red-handed near Hari Mandir in Bandhugora under Kapali OP on 8^th March last. He said police had got a tip-off about several persons selling brown sugar near the said temple. A police team led by Chandil sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar Singh raided the said place and caught the accused with brown sugar.

During interrogation, Nazam reportedly confessed his involvement in selling drugs in and around Kapali and other parts of the district. He said he purchased drugs from outsiders.
