Seraikela, May 10: The district administration and police have intensified their drive to ensure free, fair and peaceful Panchayat elections n the district. The preparations including law and order implementation for the three-tier Panchayat (Common) Election 2022, was reviewed by the General Observer for Saraikela subdivision, Sanjay Kumar. The review meeting was jointly chaired by GO Sanjay Kumar and GO (Expenditure) Umakant Singh. They reviewed administrative and police arrangements during the meeting with all district officials of Saraikela Subdivision on Tuesday, May 10.
Administrative arrangements for conducting Panchayat Elections – 2022 in the Saraikela subdivision including Seraikela, Kharsawan, Kuchai, Rajnagar and Gamharia were reviewed.
The GOs instructed officials regarding preparations for free, fair and peaceful elections and vote counting. They gave directives for completion of preparations well in time as per guidelines mentioned in the RO handbook. The GOs instructed officials present in the review meeting to ensure timely printing of ballot papers and provide detailed reports on the polling process and provision of basic amenities in the clusters and at the polling stations.
Expenditure Observer Umakant Singh stated that issues like relocation of some booths could also crop up. “If such situations arise, the people should be notified through announcements.”
Both Observers took note of foolproof arrangements at receiving and counting centres. They also reviewed measures pertaining to strong-rooms, counting hall and number of tables at vote counting centres.
