Seraikela: Discussion on ensuring compliance of traffic rules

Talks on minimising traffic mishap at Seraikela 

Seraikela, May 30. The meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal in the auditorium located at the District Collectorate.

In the meeting, point-wise discussion was held to control road accidents happening in the district and to ensure compliance of traffic rules.

District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan said that there were 22 road accidents in the previous month, in which 15 people died and 18 were injured. During this, he gave detailed information about various accidents that happened in the district. On the other hand, it was informed by the traffic inspector that in the April last, a total fine of about Rs 17 lakh 23 thousand 450 has been recovered.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner first honored Sumit Chowdhary, a young social worker of Seraikela, by giving him a citation as a Good Samaritan for helping the person affected by the accident by cooperating in the road accident.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, with the aim of controlling the accidents happening in the district and making people aware of the traffic rules, made people aware through various mediums and conducted an intensive vehicle checking campaign in the main square intersection and road accident prone area of the district

Deputy Superintendent of Police (headquarter) instructed to take strict action through Breath Analyzer by running a special campaign against drunken and Drive in road accident prone areas.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the concerned departmental officers/principals of all government, non-government schools, colleges, offices, institutes should make the people coming to their office premises aware about the traffic rules. So that road accidents can be controlled.

 The number of black spots has reduced to zero in the last month. Along with this, the number of accidents has reduced significantly in the accident-prone areas where more accidents used to happen.
