Seraikela: A 21-member team of talented artists from Seraikela is all set to represent the region at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. Led by Guru Tapan Kumar Patnaik, the former director of the State Chhau Dance Art Center, the group will depart for the capital on Thursday, January 16, by Tejas Express.
The team will present a stunning Seraikela Chhau dance tableau during the Republic Day parade on January 26, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. Guru Tapan Kumar Patnaik revealed that the artists, including Dildar Ansari, Kamal Mahato, Basant Kumar and many others, have been carefully selected for this prestigious performance. The performance will highlight various aspects of Jharkhand’s life—from culture and education to the region’s natural resources, such as forests, water and minerals. The tableau will bring attention to the essence of Jharkhandi art while celebrating its diverse contributions to India’s development.
The artists are enthusiastic about representing their state on such a significant occasion, with the event set to display the vibrant and energetic Chhau dance style that Seraikela is famous for.
