Seraikela: 83-year-old social worker Vishnu Dev Prasad Singh staged a one-day dharna outside the Seraikela subdivision office, expressing his frustration over the lack of action regarding his longstanding land dispute. Singh, visibly upset, shared that despite repeatedly seeking help from multiple officials—police station in-charge, subdivision officer, Deputy Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police—his issues had not been addressed.

Singh had submitted formal applications to the authorities, the first one on 19 November 2024 to the police station in-charge, requesting intervention in a land dispute, and seeking protection for his life and property. He followed up with applications on 3 December 2024 and 27 December 2024, but despite submitting all the necessary documents, including land agreements and details of the disputed papers, no action was taken.

Frustrated by the lack of response, Singh decided to protest in front of the subdivision office. He emphasized that the reason for his protest was not only to resolve his issue but also because his granddaughter’s wedding is this month. He warned that if the issue was not resolved, he would escalate his protest. Singh urged all concerned officials to take action, stating that this was a last resort after exhausting all available options.
