Seraikela: District Superintendent of Education (DSE) of Seraikela-Kharsawan Phulmani Khalkho on Saturday visited Khaparsai Primary School where a mentally sick man had beheaded Sukru Hessa, one of the teachers, in front of her students in broad day light.
The killer, Hari Hembram, had moved around the area with the teachers head before being arrested by police with the help of villagers. Terrified by the incident, the school officials had shut down the school.
In a bid to reopen the school and dispel the fear gripping the minds of the school teachers, staff and students, the DSE held a meeting with the villagers and the school staff and asked them to send the kids to school from Monday.
The DSE asked the school cooks to prepare mid-day meal for the students from Monday. She said the parents should drop and pick up their wards at school at least once every week.
At the meeting, it was decided to lock the main gate of the school during school hours to ensure that no stranger enters the premises without permission.
