Jamshedpur : It�s the holy month of Shravan and the time to take the holy walk to Deoghar Baidhyanath Dham to pay obeisance to Lord Shiv. Devotees visiting the famous mela this year can look forward to a more comfortable pilgrimage.
And as the steel city gears up with renewed vigour, in an attempt to ease rush of devotees during the holy month of Shravan, the South Eastern Railway ( SER) has decided to run a special train from Tatanagar to Jasidih ( Deoghar).
the South Eastern Railway will introduce a special Shravani Mela express train between Tatanagar and Jasidih from July 19, to meet the rush of devotees for Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar.
The 10-coach train ( 8- general coaches and 2 – sleeper) will run on Tuesday and Friday from Tatanagar. While from Jasidih it will run on Wednesday and Saturday. The special train will run till August 12. According to officials in Kolkata�s Garden Reach, the headquarters of South Eastern Railway, the train will leave Tatanagar at 11.45 pm and reach Jasidih at 7.30 am . On its return journey, the train will start from Jasidih at 9.45 am and reach Tatanagar at 5.30 pm.
The train would halt at Chandil, Barabhum, Purulia, Anara, Madhukunda, Burnpur, Adityapur, Kandra, Kunki, Manikui, Nimdih, Urma, Bero and some other stations between Asansol and Jasidih.
“Apart from introducing the special train we will also provide the facility of additional coaches with an aim to ease the rush of devotees on Bihar-bound trains during the festival month,” said Tatanagar official.
The monsoon has arrived and the stage is all set for the annual Shravani Mela. Devotees visiting the famous mela this year can look forward to a more comfortable pilgrimage.
Railway sources said that Garden Reach will soon come out with a circular announcing the halt of passenger trains at Mahadevshal in West Singhbhum, where a grand fair is organised at the Shiva temple. Every year, the Tata-Bilaspur Passenger, Bilaspur-Tata Passenger ( Dn), South Bihar Express, Tata-Allepey Express and few other trains halt at Mahadevshal during the month of Shravan .
Situated on the banks of the picturesque Karo river under Goelkera block, Mahadevshal temple was established in the 19th century by a local landlord.
Former Prime Minister Narsimha Rao had visited the temple in 1995 during his visit to Goelkera block, where he had come to inaugurate a 70-bed hospital at Samij Ashram, about 20 kms away from Mahadevshal.
Overwhelmed with the revenue earning, the Chakradharpur railway division will also introduce a special passenger train between Chakradharpur and Rourkela.
Sources in West Singhbhum district administration informed that over 1.25 lakh visitors and pilgrims visits the popular Mahadevshal temple during the holy month of Shravan last year. But, this year the figures are expected to cross 1.50 lakh.
