SER GM Inspects Rourkela, Jharsuguda Stations; Orders Quicker Project Completion

Jamshedpur: South Eastern Railway (SER) General Manager Anil Kumar Jain conducted a comprehensive inspection of Rourkela and Jharsuguda stations under the Chakradharpur Division today. During the visit, he directed officials to accelerate ongoing development works and upgrade passenger amenities across the region.

Accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Tarun Huria and senior staff, Jain assessed operational efficiency and reviewed critical infrastructure projects.

Key Highlights of the Inspection

• Amenity Review: The General Manager examined platforms, waiting halls, ticket counters, sanitation systems, and security measures. He ordered officials to maintain high cleanliness standards to ensure a seamless experience for commuters.

• Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Jain scrutinized the progress of projects under this flagship scheme. He demanded that officials strictly adhere to timelines and maintain superior construction quality for all station upgrades.

• Technical Safety Audit: During a “window trailing” inspection between Rourkela and Jharsuguda, Jain closely monitored tracks, signaling systems, overhead equipment, and bridges. He reiterated that the railway maintains a “zero-tolerance” policy toward safety negligence.

• Operational Coordination: In a review meeting with departmental heads, Jain urged better inter-departmental coordination to resolve bottlenecks and expedite pending projects.

Jain instructed officials to take passenger feedback seriously and ensure the swift redressal of complaints. He noted that regular inspections serve as a vital tool to motivate staff and maintain the quality of the Indian Railways’ modernization efforts.
