SER GM to Inaugurate Jamshedpur’s First Multi-Disciplinary Training Centre

Jamshedpur: Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager of South Eastern Railway (SER), will officially inaugurate the newly developed Multi-Disciplinary Divisional Training Centre in Bagbera this Monday. The Chakradharpur Division transformed the former Railway High School in Bagbera into this modern educational hub to centralize and enhance staff training.

High-Tech Infrastructure for Railway Excellence

South Eastern Railway allocated ₹2.5 crore to develop this state-of-the-art facility. The campus features a fully Wi-Fi-enabled environment, digital interactive panels, and specialized labs equipped with modern machinery.

Designed as an integrated centre, the facility will provide simultaneous training for employees across several key departments, including:

  • Electrical
  • Operations
  • Mechanical
  • Signal & Telecommunication (S&T)

Skill Development and Local Convenience

Previously, railway personnel from the region had to travel to Chakradharpur or Sini for technical training. This new centre allows Tatanagar-based staff to access courses locally. The facility will cater to both existing employees seeking skill upgrades and new recruits from the Railway Recruitment Board. Training programs will typically range from two to four weeks. To accommodate personnel coming from other stations, the division also plans to establish on-site hostel facilities.

DRM Conducts Final Inspection

Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Arun J. Rathore arrived in Tatanagar via a special train on Saturday morning to conduct a final inspection. He toured the specialized labs and issued directives to ensure all technical setups are ready for the grand opening.

Senior officials, including Senior DCM Aditya Chaudhary, accompanied the DRM during the visit. Following the inspection and a full rehearsal of the inauguration ceremony, the DRM returned to Chakradharpur. The railway administration expects this centre to significantly improve the qualitative performance of staff, ultimately ensuring safer and more efficient train operations.
