Heavy vehicle entry banned in Jamshedpur during Chaiti Chhath

Restrictions imposed to manage traffic and ensure safety of devotees

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has imposed a temporary ban on the entry of heavy vehicles in the city during the Chaiti Chhath 2026 celebrations to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.

According to the order, on March 24, the movement of all heavy vehicles within the city will be strictly prohibited from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. However, passenger buses have been exempted from the restriction to avoid inconvenience to commuters.

On March 25, which marks the second day of the festival, the ban will remain in force from 3:00 AM to 11:00 AM. During this period as well, only buses will be allowed to operate in the city.

The administration has taken this step in view of the large number of devotees expected to gather at various ghats and public places for the festival rituals.

Officials said the restrictions aim to prevent traffic congestion and ensure the safety of people participating in the celebrations.

All police station in-charges and traffic officials have been directed to strictly enforce the traffic plan and ensure compliance throughout the festival period.
