SER Announces Tatanagar–Anand Vihar ‘Janjati Diwas’ Special Train From May 23

Jamshedpur: The South Eastern Railway has announced a special train between Tatanagar Junction and Anand Vihar Terminal to provide major relief for passengers traveling between Jharkhand and the national capital. The railway administration introduced the service to celebrate ‘Janjati Diwas’ (Tribal Day) and to tackle the summer holiday rush.

Railway officials expect the special service to significantly clear the heavy waiting lists on regular trains that connect Jharkhand, Bihar, and Delhi during the holiday season.

An official order from the Office of the Principal Chief Operations Manager, South Eastern Railway, confirmed that Train No. 08183/08184 Tata–Anand Vihar–Tata ‘Janjati Diwas’ Special will run for one round trip under special fares.

According to the official schedule, Train No. 08183 (Tatanagar–Anand Vihar Special) will depart from Tatanagar Junction at 12:30 AM on Saturday, May 23. The train will halt at major stations, including Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Gomoh, Gaya, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction, Prayagraj, and Govindpuri before arriving at Anand Vihar Terminal at approximately 3:30 AM on May 24.

On the return leg, Train No. 08184 (Anand Vihar–Tatanagar Special) will leave Anand Vihar Terminal at 1:45 AM on May 25 and reach Tatanagar station at around 12:15 AM on May 26 after serving the same stations.

Officials stated that they designed this run to manage the sharp spike in passenger demand. Every year during vacations, thousands of migrant workers, students, and professionals from Jharkhand and Bihar travel home from Delhi, causing severe overcrowding on regular routes.

The 22-coach train will feature Sleeper, General, and Air-Conditioned compartments to accommodate passengers from all economic sections. The Railways have also set up special protocols to ensure the maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of the train.
