Jamshedpur: Sadhvi Saraswati Didi on Sunday said those who slaughter cows should be sentenced to life imprisonment. Provisions should be made in the law for this purpose, she said while speaking to scribes in Jugsalai.
Saraswati Didi said the Rajasthan High Court had recently made a provision for strictly dealing with cow slaughter. The Central government too, should pass a legislation and ensure its strict implementation in all the states of the country, she said.
According to Saraswati Didi, saving cows is the holy duty of all Hindus. She said an ambulance service for cows would be started in the city by Sanatan Foundation. She said one such ambulance known as Gau Seva Vahini would be provided to Hindu Jagran Manch on her next visit to the city.
The Hindu leader said there is an urgent need to save daughters and cows in the country. She said she is organizing such public awareness programmes in the country, especially in the villages. She said she had spoken against beef eating in Kerala which resulted in the institution of an FIR against her by the state government. She said she would visit Kerala again next month.
Sadhvi Saraswati was accompanied by Dr Suman Kumar, regional organization secretary of Hindu Jagran Manch for Bihar and Jharkhand.
