Jamshedpur, August 25: Senior advocate and social activist Girja Shankar Jaiswal breathed his last in Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Tuesday. Known Ananda Margii of Jamshedpur Jaiswal was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties. According to reports, Girja Shankar Jaiswal got inspired by the philosophy and joined Ananda Marga in beginning of the Samgha. He was first Bhukti Pradhan (District incharge) of Hazaribag. He propagated the social and spiritual philosophy of Ananda Marga among the awakened mass of the society and in other hand helped the suffering humanity. To serve the suffering humanity he founded free legal add committee and life long maintained the dignity of the general secretary of the same. Known for having founded Free Legal Aid Committee (FLAC) in Jamshedpur and having provided free legal aid to hundreds of poor people of the city, Jaiswal had acquired a reputation for working for poor and hapless in the city. G S Jaiswal provided free legal help to poor and hapless, launched intense campaign against �witch-hunt�
In this field he himself drafted, framed and introduced the law which was passed and accepted by Jharkhand state.
In 2005 in Tandava dance case he was the advocate from the organisation Ananda Marga, Samgha won the case due to his sincere effort. He also visited overseas countries to do research in the field of law.
Prabha Jaiswal, wife of Girja Shankar Jaiswal is well known social activist. The last rites of late Girja Shankar will be performed according to Ananda Marga.
