Meeting held to ensure security ahead of Holi, social media under scanner
Jamshedpur: District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police convened a crucial meeting with the Central Peace Committee to discuss and address concerns regarding the maintenance of law and order during the upcoming Holi festival. Held at Sidhgora Town Hall, the meeting saw active participation from various stakeholders, including city and rural police officials, administrative officers, and members of the Central Peace Committee.

During the session, the Central Peace Committee members highlighted pertinent issues affecting their respective areas, while also offering constructive suggestions for improved security measures. District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, emphasized the significance of celebrating festivals in a spirit of harmony and mutual respect.

He underscored the importance of adhering to safety protocols, urging residents to abstain from intoxicants, observe traffic regulations, and prioritize the well-being of fellow citizens. With the Lok Sabha elections looming, he reiterated the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct and warned against any violations, including the dissemination of misinformation on social media platforms.
Furthermore, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal, outlined stringent security protocols to be implemented ahead of Holi. These measures include heightened surveillance, particularly targeting instances of drink driving and the circulation of objectionable content on social media platforms.

In addition, police authorities will conduct flag marches in sensitive areas and collaborate with paramilitary forces to ensure enhanced security coverage. The Senior Superintendent emphasized the responsible use of DJ music during festivities, urging operators to comply with legal guidelines to prevent any social disruptions.
The police department has also vowed to crack down on the illegal sale of alcohol and drugs, emphasizing the need for proactive community engagement to identify and address potential threats to public safety.
As preparations for the Holi festival intensify, the District Administration and Police remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding the well-being and security of all residents. Through collaborative efforts and proactive measures, they aim to foster an environment conducive to peaceful celebrations and communal harmony.
