Jamshedpur: A meeting of the Sweep Cell was convened today at the Collectorate Auditorium, chaired by Senior Officer of the Sweep Cell cum Deputy Development Commissioner, Manish Kumar. Discussions centered on activities aimed at fostering comprehensive voter awareness and formulating an action plan to bolster the voting percentage in the upcoming assembly elections.
The Senior Officer emphasized the objective of motivating a greater voter turnout, setting a target of exceeding 80 percent voting participation. He urged the Sveep Cell to orchestrate extensive awareness programs and called upon all officials to exceed their usual efforts.
Instructions were issued to ramp up the activities of Electoral Literacy Clubs and to organize large-scale programs in schools and colleges under the SVEEP initiative. Furthermore, the formation of Voter Awareness Forums in various institutions and public spaces was stressed, alongside the swift implementation of voter awareness campaigns, marathons, signature drives, and social media campaigns.
Efforts to identify booths with low voter turnout were highlighted, with directives to address underlying issues and intensify awareness campaigns in those areas. A meticulous, date-wise action plan for voter awareness activities was also mandated, along with the dissemination of campaign materials across various public platforms.
