Security forces start major operation against Maoists in Jharkhand’s Kolhan

Jamshedpur, October 12: Police and paramilitary forces started a large-scale operation to uproot the CPI Maoist Naxalites in the forests of Kolhan Reserve Forest area of West Singhbhum district.

 If sources are to be believed, this operation has been started from October 11. A large number of police forces are being sent to the Naxal stronghold taking shelter in Kolhan forest through the forest of different police station areas.

 It is being said that this is the biggest operation against Naxalites so far. However, in the Kolhan forest area, police and paramilitary forces were gradually setting up dozens of police camps and carrying out continuous operations to eliminate the Naxalites.

Police, Naxalites and common villagers have suffered losses during this operation. It is noteworthy that on September 27, Naxalites, challenging the police, had organized their 19th Foundation Day program on a large scale from 10 am to 4 pm in Kolhan forest.

The Naxalites had also released pictures and videos of the program to the media. In which a large number of women Naxalites were seen singing and dancing cultural and revolutionary songs carrying weapons.

According to sources, this program was organized by Naxalites in the dense forests of Kara-Khajuria village area of Gamharia Panchayat under Kolhan forest of Goilkera police station area. This forest is still considered safe for Naxalites, because there is no police and CRPF camp in this area.

The police are preparing to free Kolhan forest from Naxalites by capturing this safe zone of Naxalites. However, this will not only take a long time, but will also see fierce encounters between Naxalites and police at every step.
