Second day of Jharkhand National Film Festival continues to evoke great interest

Jamshedpur, Oct 16: This is the second year of Jharkhand National Film Festival in the city that continues to enhance the flow of adrenalin among filmmakers, actors, technicians and budding actors and directors. In fact JNFF has been showcasing the efforts of ambitious filmmakers through screening of their selected short and feature films and documentaries in Hindi, Bengali and regional languages. This year it is no different.

Today, on the second day of the fest Crowds poured into the Michael John Auditorium and the one at Srinath B Ed Adityapur where 42 films in the short, feature and regional genres were screened in which the eager audience comprising fanatics, fans and connoisseurs of all ages were left excited, entranced and asking for more.

Raju Mitra of Mitra Productions, one of the organizing units said, �It takes months of strenuous and assiduous planning to organize such a momentous festival. The total team functioned like a well-oiled machine and the result, both, in quality of films and the interest aroused are there for all to see.�

Sanjay Satpathy of Asma India Charitable Trust who is partnering Mitra Production to host JNFF was excited despite his busy organizational schedule. �That the film lovers and film buffs are enjoying the show and looking forward to the next film is a major part of the success story. Our whole organizing team put in every ounce of effort to ensure success of this festival. The show must and will go on,� Sanjay stated.

Young veteran feature and short film maker Saurav Suman Jha whose latest short film on the delicate subject of prevailing doubts in a couple earned kudos at yesterday�s screening averred, �Film making is a passion and transforming thoughts on celluloid in a manner that tells your narrative to the �T� turns a successful venture. I am still in the learning process but it is an adventure in which new discoveries are made almost every waking moment.�

The films comprising regional and Hindi short films were commendable. All had social relevant themes. Hindi short film �Ahsaas,� Santhali short film �Hasa� were some of the other telling presentations among the 42 films screened today in the two auditoriums.

The organizing team comprises Shailendra Mahto, Tapan Gorai, Amit, Raj Pal, Pratyush, Varsha, Girdhari, Varun, Chintu and all technical members.
